CHEMERONG WATERFALL



17. (Chemerong Waterfall)



 Have you been heard about the Highest waterfall in Malaysia or Asia? Ye they are in Malaysia! One of the famous places in Terengganu is the Malaysia’s highest waterfalls which is Chemerong waterfall. It is located in a remote district of Dungun, Terengganu. As part of the state’s green heritage, the Chemerong waterfall offers a good hiking spot for any outdoor and hiking enthusiasts. Talling at a height of 305 metres and appearing like a giant human figure, the waterfall can be accessed by one or two hours of jungle trekking depending on hiking experience. Upon reaching the waterfall, visitors can opt to follow hiking trails to a nearby mountain, Mt. Berembun and visit Langsir Waterfall as well. Local adventurous hikers would usually embark on a 3D2N hiking expedition combining all three spots into one Chemerong-Berembun-Langsir (CBL) trip, which requires them to camp at nearby camping sites. Despite the poor network coverage, the state park facilitates good camping facilities.



SEKAYU WATERFALL



18. (Sekayu Waterfall)



Both local and foreign visitors attracted to the main attractions which is the beautiful 3-tiered waterfall where an ample picnic areas located along the river which are popular camping sites for family outings especially during holidays. 


Sekayu Waterfall is one of the two waterfalls collectively called the Sungai Ceralak Waterfalls. The first, Sekayu Waterfalls is known as Jeram Solo, while the second, is called Jeram Padang. The area has some attractive trees and plants including various species of pretty wild flowers. The surrounding hills also provide a scenic backdrop for photographers. 


For those who seeks for adventure, a jungle trail approximately 3 km long has been built in the forest area. Visitor will also get the opportunity to see different species of wildlife such as deer, white-handed gibbons, otters, peacock and a few species of birds. Shelters, tables and benches for the visitors' convenience are provided within the camping sites. A children's playground equipped with various playing facilities is also provided.
